Mark Murphy

I am a retired nuclear submarine officer who loves traveling the world with my wife and son and painting the many wonders we encounter.

For me, the COVID pandemic was an unexpected opportunity to paint almost every day.  I was able to improve my technique while mentally escaping my quarantine through art.  I have had the privilege of visiting more than 50 countries and many of my paintings are inspired by those travels.

In my travels I have been able to scuba dive in many stunning and exotic locations.  It saddens me to see these amazing environments in decline.  Many of my paintings celebrate the beauty of the underwater world to remind us of this hidden world that we need to protect.
